Q: Who’s behind Open Mic Night @ The Warehouse?
A: Open Mic Night began in 1998 with a group of Tallahassee musicians interested in showcasing a variety of live performers. Today, our own resident singer/songwriter, Doc Russell, volunteers his time to setup & MC the event.
Q: I’ve never played on stage before…should I perform at Open Mic Night?
A: We welcome all performers, regardless of age or experience! Countless performers and bands started out as newcomers to Open Mic Night, while experienced musicians often find it refreshing to play for a new audience. Performing for any audience can be a great way to improve, and you never know what could happen!
Q: Is it possible to perform along to pre-recorded music?
A: Yes! If you have your music on a laptop, iPod, CD player, etc. make sure to bring it and let us know in advance! We’ve got your back!
Q: How can I book The Warehouse for shows, events, or special occasions?
A: For booking information regarding The Warehouse, please call (850) 222-6188 any time during regular hours (7:30pm-2am / Monday-Saturday).
Q: Is there a cover charge?
A: There’s NEVER any door charge, cover charge, suggested donation, or signup fee! FREE to perform + FREE to attend – thanks to the hard work of Doc Russell + all our performers!!!
Q: Is it ok to take pictures or film?
A: Yes! Casual photography and video recording are welcomed; we encourage you to share these on our Facebook page! Be sure to properly label / tag your media so others can find it (most of our performers are happy to provide whatever information you need!) We usually don’t encourage professional photography or all-out film crews as these can be distracting, but if you’re interested in doing something like that, hit us up in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate!
Q: I heard the performers get a free beer – what’s up with that??
A: If you’re 21 or older, be sure to see Doc after your performance and we’ll hook it up!
(water + sodas also available upon request!)
